About the D43 Program

The D43 International Research Training Program is supported by the National Institutes of Health through the Fogarty International Center. The program promotes international collaboration in research training and aims to strengthen scientific capacity in global health and neuroscience through partnerships between academic institutions.

Through this institutional support, the program provides resources, mentorship, and training opportunities for early-career researchers, fostering collaborative networks that contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the development of sustainable research capacity.

Program Overview

The D43 training program is an international initiative designed to strengthen research capacity and support the training of emerging scientists working on critical health challenges. Through interdisciplinary mentorship, methodological training, and collaborative research opportunities, the program equips trainees with the tools necessary to conduct high-quality scientific research.

Participants engage in collaborative projects, receive mentorship from experienced investigators, and contribute to research efforts addressing key questions in health, cognition, and neuroscience.

Objectives

The program seeks to:

  • Strengthen research training for early-career scientists through mentorship and hands-on research experience.

  • Promote international scientific collaboration between institutions and research groups.

  • Support the development of future scientific leaders in health and neuroscience.

  • Encourage interdisciplinary approaches to complex health challenges.
